Business Breakfast: Transforming the Energy Sector
On 24th November Team Norway (The Royal Norwegian Embassy and NLCC) organised a business breakfast meeting @Transforming the Energy Sector: : Economics & (R)Evolution” hosted at the Comfort Hotel in Vilnius. Vital topics such as energy transformation, climate policy, green economy, the future of the energy sector, sustainability, innovation and more were discussed.
Event’s opening remarks came from Chargé d’affaires Anne Sofie Bjelland leading to a keynote presentation by Researcher and Professor of Environmental and Energy Economics at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), Mr Gunnar S. Eskeland. The professor shared his insights and different views on the transition of economics of renewables, subsidies and integration.
The keynote speech followed by the presentation on global LNG market development and its impact on the transformation of Lithuanian gas sector by Mr Mindaugas Petrauskas, Managing Director of Hoegh LNG Klaipėda and Norwegian Honorary Consul in Klaipėda.
After all, Mr Tomas Deržanauskas, Managing Director of Moller Auto Savanoriai delivered his presentation on transport revolution, in particular on accelerating electric car revolution. Norway has been a leader in electric car adoption for years now and it seems it will keep beating new records in new electric cars sales years ahead.
