Norwegian-Lithuanian Business Forum 2017

On 4th May, 80+ business representatives gathered at the annual Norwegian-Lithuanian Business Forum 2017 hosted in Quadrum Business City, Vilnius. The event was organized by NLCC in partnership with DNB, Schage Real Estate, SuperOffice and ISM University of Management and Economics.

This year the event focus was on the theme of Nordic Leadership, especially the Nordics focus on work environments. By tradition, the Forum was opened by H.E. Dag M. Halvorsen, Ambassador of Norway to Lithuania. Then the floor was given to amazing speakers with significant hands of experience in academic, business and political arenas such as Rasa Juknevičienė (Member of Seimas; former Minister of National Defence), Stig R. Myrseth (Dovre Forvaltning), Prof Ralf Muller (BI Norwegian Business School), Jaime Izquierdo Pereira (Competencias 2.0), Bjørnar Lund (DNB), Stein Ove Sektnan (SuperOffice), Dr Inga Milegaite Snaebjornsson (University of Iceland), Dr Olga Štangej.

The Forum ended on a festive note - the Kloster Lasse Award 2017 ceremony. The award is traditionally granted to individuals of Norwegian nationality or people with very strong connection to Norway who have done exceptional effort through their work and life in Lithuania.

The Kloster Lasse Award for 2017 was awarded Mr Gunnvald Laukhammer for his hard work and his selfless caring for those in need.

Mr Gunnvald Laukhammer is the natural centre for all Norwegians in the Klaipeda region. Together with his wife Džiuginta, they care for the poor in the neighbourhood. He is famous for his many years' tradition of filling trucks with firewood in the winter, distributing much needed warmth and comfort for the elderly and poor. Two years ago he turned 60 years old, and all guests were asked not to bring any gifts, but to make a donation to the Children’s Orphanage in his neighbourhood.
