Royal Lyefish Party 2012-Mar-15

NLCC together with Norwegian Royal Lyefish Community in Lithuania  had the opportunity to organize 15th anniversary Royal Lyefish (Lutefisk) Party  for our Members on the 15th of March.

Lutefisk is dried cod that is soaked in lye solution for several days in order to rehydrate it. The cod is later boiled or baked and serve with butter, salt, pepper and traditional garniture. There is a saying that about half of the Norwegians that emigrated to America in order to escape the hated lutefisk where as the other half stayed enjoying the taste of lutefisk.

One thing for sure, but the guests of the event were in no hurry to leave! Almost 70 people showed up to the event to see what Lutefisk is all about. The lutefisk prepared by Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva culinary team was splendid accompanied by beer and shots of aquavit. With a blend of beautiful music, smiles and happy faces, the Lyefish party will be remembered…

NLCC would like to thank DNB, Statoil and Schage Real Estate for being sponsors of the event. Furthermore, NLCC would like to thank the cooperation partners of the event: Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva, Ervik Fisk and Gauva.
