Dear NLCC Members and Friends of Norway,
We are overjoyed to share that our 17th of May Constitution Day celebration was absolute fantastic! 🎉 The Norwegian Club in Lithuania and NLCC were thrilled to welcome our community and friends of Norway for a day full of fun and festivities.
🌸 A lovely flower ceremony at the Church of St. Johns, celebrating the 10th anniversary and honoring Lauritz Nielsøn “Kloster Lasse” (1537-1622), one of the first Norwegians in Lithuania.
🍴 The fun continued in the backyard of the Old Green Grill House. The 17th May Parade, led by the fantastic KASP band, marched out from the Bell Tower of Vilnius Cathedral, filling the air with joyous tunes and Norwegian spirit. Thank you for a warm welcome speech by Ambassador Ole Terje Horpestad, followed by beautiful songs from the talented students at the Center for Scandinavian Studies at Vilnius University. 🎂 We indulged in delicious snacks including pølser i lompe, kransekake, and the 17th of May cake, sponsored by Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva. Children had a blast with games, ice cream, soft drinks, and sweets galore! 🍦🍭🕺 The celebration ended up, leaving everyone with smiles and wonderful memories. 😊
A huge shoutout to our fantastic sponsors who made this event possible:
📢💥 Norvegijos ambasada Lietuvoje – Norwegian Embassy in Lithuania, NorDan Lietuva, I-Hus Norge, Inova Baltic, Stansefabrikken, Narvesen Lietuva, and Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva, Vilnius.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating Norway’s Constitution Day. Your energy and enthusiasm made it a truly unforgettable event 🥳.
Best regards,
Norwegian Club in Lithuania / NLCC
