Svenheim UAB is 100% owned by the Norwegian company „Svenheim Møbelindustri“ AS and is located in Alytus, Lithuania. The main activities of the company is the production of the office furniture but nevertheless we are expanding our business in shop interior projects and subcontracting business.
Originally, the furniture production was started in 1956 and was located in an industrial plant in Telemark in Norway. However, in 2002 it was noticed that the cost in Norway would create challenges for the competitiveness and a large industrial building of 50.000 m² in Alytus, Lithuania was bought. After premises were renovated, the machinery and equipment gradually had been transferred from Norway to Lithuania and developed the complete production activities in Lithuania, including construction, purchase, production, customers‘ service and logistics.
Today we have a highly qualified management team, construction department, purchasing department, production management and all the way down to each employee. An advanced production planning and order management systems allows us to produce both standard and customized products in both large and small batch sizes in an efficient and rational manner and reach a delivery ratio of 98%. In order to fulfil the customers‘ demand, we had been certified with ISO 9001 and ISO14001 in 2010 and we have successfully passed FSC audit by Bureau Veritas in 2013.
Based on the investments that have been made in Lithuania, Svenheim UAB has achieved great success with the sales of the office furniture on the Norwegian, Swedish and Danish markets and developed business in shop interior, subcontracting business as well.
