Norwegian-Lithuanian and Finnish Business Lunch took place on 25 April 2019 at “Mykolo 4” restaurant. NLCC and FLCC (Finnish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce) members gathered not only to etwrk, but to learn about the alternative means of energy production. Mindaugas Čalka, Director of “Paulig Coffee Lietuva” and his colleague Modesta Tamošiūnė gave an inspiring speech on how coffee ground waste can serve as a sustainable energy source. During the whole Christmas season in 2017  in Kaunas, coffee grounds kept the lights of the Christmas tree and of the whole Christmas town going! And this was not the only project that “Paulig” carried to bring attention to sustainability; during the Vilnius Coffee Festival, “Paulig Coffee Lietuva” used a coffee machine not just to make coffee, but to also charge phones; also coffee ground waste lightened up Saviciaus street during the Christmas Season 2018. Over 200 companies joined this initiative!

This presentation was a great introduction to an upcoming Norwegian-Lithuanian Business Forum and Matchmaking 2019 taking place on 8 May. Do not forget to book your seats! Register here.
