On 16-19 October more than 20 representatives of 10 Lithuanian companies took part in the construction mission to Oslo.

This business mission reflects NLCC’s core objective of facilitating business cooperation between Norway and Lithuania. NLCC, in partnership with Enterprise Lithuania, Lithuanian Embassy in Oslo, Friendly International Consult and Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in Oslo, facilitated three days of extensive discussions and business matchmaking sessions coupled with a visit to the construction site of “Consolvo” and the Bygg Reis Deg exhibition in Lillestrøm.

Norwegian construction market and requirements relevant to the construction industry were presented by the Federation of Norwegian Construction Industries (BNL), the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority (Arbeidstilsynet), and the success story shared by “Staticus”, one of the biggest building’s facades contractors in the Scandinavian and Baltic States markets. At the end of day 1 a targeted Business-to-Business (B2B) session took place where companies of both countries explored partnership opportunities. This session was then followed by a networking reception kindly sponsored by DNB and hosted in their headquarters in Oslo.

Additionally, the business mission provided an opportunity to visit the main Norwegian exhibition in the construction sector – Byyg Reis Deg – held for the 27th time. There NLCC also went to see it’s Silver Member “Ginstata” which participated in the trade fair with a stand.

This visit also resulted in a new partnership agreement. Norwegian-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce (in Vilnius) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with  Lithuanian-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (in Oslo) in order to boost economic cooperation and increase trade and investment between the two countries.
