RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS CONDUCT IN THE NORDIC & BALTIC REGION

Responsible business conduct is becoming more and more relevant for Lithuanian companies as both consumers and employees value not only the price of company’s goods and services, but also the company’s reputation and activity under certain conditions: whether the company does not violate and does not contribute to violations of human and workers rights, bribery, environmental violations, etc.

The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (Guidelines) is the only internationally recognized responsible business code that addresses in detail the standards of responsible business conduct. The Republic of Lithuania, together with 48 other members of the OECD and Non-OECD members, confirm that the Guidelines best reflect the principles of responsible business and encourage companies to apply those Guidelines as widely as possible in their activities. As Lithuania became a full member of the OECD, the implementation of the Guidelines and the application of responsible business conduct has become even more relevant and important.

We invite you to the international seminar “Responsible Business Conduct in the Nordic & Baltic Region” to be held on 6th September from 10:00am at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania (registration starts at 9.30 am). The event is organized by the Lithuanian National Contact Point, together with the NCPs of Norway and Denmark.

During the event the independent experts of the Lithuanian NCP will present the situation of business responsibility in Lithuania, Lithuanian NCP mission and functions. The representatives of the Norwegian and Danish NCPs will share their best practices and practical aspects of the implementation of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises in the Nordic region.

REGISTRATION (open until 3 September, 2018)
